MWC 2025, the premier global tech event, will kick off in Barcelona on Monday for a four-day showcase of the latest technological innovations. Among the key participants are South Korea’s top telecom companies, who will highlight their advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus are set to present their groundbreaking AI technologies, alongside a significant display from Samsung Electronics. These tech giants aim to demonstrate their leadership in AI, data centers, and mobile technologies at the event, which is widely recognized as one of the world’s top three tech expos.

SK Telecom to Highlight AI-Powered Data Centers

SK Telecom, a leader in South Korea’s telecom industry, will take center stage at MWC 2025 with a large, 990-square-meter booth at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via, the event’s main venue. The company will spotlight its innovative AI data center solutions, covering key areas such as energy efficiency, operations, AI integration, and security.

SK Telecom’s exhibit will include a variety of AI-powered technologies aimed at improving data center infrastructure. Among the highlights are cutting-edge solutions for graphic processing units (GPUs) and real-time monitoring tools, designed to enhance operational efficiency and security within data centers. This is part of SK Telecom’s broader push to integrate AI across its services, solidifying its position as a leader in next-generation telecom solutions.

SK hynix Joins the Show with AI Chips and Storage Solutions

SK hynix, SK Telecom’s chipmaking affiliate, will also be showcasing its latest advancements in AI technology. The company will present state-of-the-art AI chips and solid-state drives (SSDs) designed for data centers. These components are expected to drive the future of AI applications, offering improved processing power and storage capabilities. As AI continues to revolutionize industries, SK hynix’s innovations in chipmaking play a critical role in supporting data-heavy operations.

KT’s AI Innovations Take Center Stage at ‘K-Street’ Pavilion

KT, another South Korean telecom giant, will highlight its AI capabilities at the MWC 2025 under the theme “K-Street.” The pavilion, divided into seven distinct sections, will feature AI-powered business solutions, real-time translation technologies, and security innovations.

One of the most notable sections is the office-inspired space, which mirrors KT’s newly built headquarters in Seoul. Here, the company will introduce its AI agent solutions, aimed at transforming the workplace with automation and intelligence. KT will also present a unique demonstration in the stadium section, where an AI sports announcer will showcase the company’s real-time translation technologies. This feature highlights KT’s vision of a more connected and intelligent world, where language barriers are easily overcome in real time.

In addition, KT will showcase various advanced security technologies, including EL SAR, a 5G-based precise positioning technology. KT’s text message scam and spam-blocking solutions will also be on display, offering a glimpse into the future of mobile security.

LG Uplus to Make Its Debut with AI Models at MWC

For the first time, LG Uplus will participate in MWC, bringing its generative AI model, ixi-Gen, and its personal AI agent, ixi-O, to the event. LG Uplus’s involvement underscores the growing role of AI in the telecom sector and highlights its commitment to advancing smart technologies. The company’s AI solutions aim to offer personalized experiences for users, leveraging deep learning to optimize interactions.

Samsung Electronics to Unveil AI Chips for Mobile and Mobility Applications

Samsung Electronics, a major player in the global tech industry, will also have a prominent presence at MWC 2025. The company will showcase its AI chips, specifically designed for mobile and mobility applications. Samsung’s innovations in this space promise to enhance the performance of smartphones and other mobile devices, offering faster processing speeds and more efficient AI capabilities.

These AI chips are expected to play a pivotal role in Samsung’s efforts to lead the next generation of mobile technologies. Visitors to the Samsung booth will get an exclusive look at the future of AI in mobile and transportation applications.

MWC 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting event, with South Korea’s telecom leaders at the forefront of AI innovation. SK Telecom, KT, LG Uplus, and Samsung Electronics are set to showcase their latest advancements, demonstrating the potential of AI to transform industries ranging from telecommunications to mobile technologies. As the event unfolds in Barcelona, these companies are poised to make a lasting impression on the global tech community.
